Honoring outstanding literary achievements in independent publishing
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Atmosphere Press is thrilled to announce that Helen Montague Foster, author of Lost Graces, has been awarded the inaugural Atmosphere Press Book of the Year Award. This recognition honors outstanding literary achievement among the press's publications.
Lost Graces is a compelling psychiatric thriller set in late 1990s Richmond, Virginia. The narrative follows Dr. Nancy Thomas, a psychiatrist grappling with the ethical and personal challenges of her profession amidst a backdrop of real-life events, including the Southside Strangler and Beltway Snipers. As she uncovers disturbing secrets and faces mounting fears, Dr. Thomas is forced to reevaluate her approach to therapy and her own past. The novel offers a richly imagined exploration into the mind of a dedicated therapist confronting both external threats and internal dilemmas.
"We are honored to recognize Helen Montague Foster for her exceptional contribution to literature," says Dr. Nick Courtright, Founder and CEO of Atmosphere Press. "Each finalist exemplifies the dedication and creativity we strive to support and celebrate."
